The AT-6 Texan features a light all wood
fuselage and foil covered rib wings. The highly detailed covering and
weathered look of the whole plane make this kit an extremely realistic
model. The kit includes a professionally painted fiberglass cowl and
hand painted pilot. The additional available retracts and oleo struts
further enhance the scale looks of this amazing Warbird.

AT-6 History:
The Texan remains a favorite trainer aircraft among warbird collectors around the world. Texans are manufactured by North American Aviation for training fighter pilots of the United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during WWII.
The T-6 is has many designations depending on the model and operating air force and the USAAC called it as T-6. The first AT-6 built was in 1938. It incorporates a Pratt & Whitney R-1340-AN-1 Wasp radial engine w/600 h.p.
The AT-6 is fitted with a single fixed .30 cal. machine gun, used for basic aerial and air-to-ground gunnery training. The AT-6G has a crew of two, a student and an instructor. It has a maximum speed of 208 mph at 5,000 ft and a range of 730 miles. Ever since World War II, the T-6 has been a regular participant at air shows and was featured in many movies.
